Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has stated that the political and military component of peace talks regarding the war in Ukraine is currently 'on pause.' He attributed this halt to the conflict between the United States and Iran in the Middle East. Podolyak made these remarks during a national telethon, 'United News,' noting that the United States is the key moderator of the negotiations, which are trilateral between Russia and Ukraine. Podolyak elaborated,
“Regarding the global negotiation process, it is clear that as long as the events in the Middle East have not 'put the final dots over the i,' the negotiations on the war in Ukraine are on pause.”He also emphasized a significant shift in the Middle East's attitude toward Russia, which has become openly negative, contrasting with a previously neutral-to-positive stance. This change in sentiment also applies to Latin America and parts of Africa.
