Europe's Winter Aid to Ukraine: Generators and Boilers for Heating Arrive

Ukraine is receiving international technical and humanitarian aid to support its power supply and heating needs. This assistance is crucial as the country's energy infrastructure remains a target, leaving civilians vulnerable during winter. The #WarmthForUkraine initiative and the SOS Riscaldiamo Ucraina campaign have raised over 340,000 euros to purchase generators, boilers, and heaters for hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure.

The first delivery of aid occurred on February 16, providing high-capacity generators and charging stations to Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 5 and the KNP Psychiatry facility. On the same day, five generators for hospitals in Lutsk, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, and Tarashcha were dispatched from Sweden. Sweden is also working to procure 10 thermal boilers and arrange logistics for generators for Ukraine's Ministry of Health.

Campaigns and Partnerships

In Sweden, the KeepUkraineWarm campaign has gathered approximately 1.5 million euros to aid hospitals, schools, heating points, and communities in frontline regions, including Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, and Kyiv. Vilnius, in cooperation with the company Miesto gijos, delivered six generators, spare parts kits, and a mobile boiler unit to Kyiv. The Ukrainian Coordination Center NGO in Frankfurt am Main also provided generators, heaters, and sleeping bags for Kyiv's needs.

As part of the Munich-Kyiv partnership, 15 industrial generators will be supplied, with free delivery arranged by the company Meest. A second shipment of over 2,000 radiators from Germany, supported by Stiftung Solidarität Ukraine and Blau-Gelbes Kreuz e.V., recently arrived for the Kyiv and Sumy regions. Poland's Government Agency for Strategic Reserves has sent high-capacity generators and heating systems to Kyiv hospitals.

A 30 kW generator was delivered to the Kyiv Three Hierarchs Theological Seminary of the UGCC, thanks to the Łódź Foundation and Piotr Wiśniewski. The Olomouc Region in the Czech Republic approved funding for the needs of the Sumy region. From the city of Toronto, Kyiv will receive five vehicles (two for paramedics) and five generators. A generator was provided from Hungary for Lyceum No. 245 Helikon in Kyiv's Obolon district, while the mayor of Zagon sent generators for a kindergarten and a social service in Kharkiv.

The Manol Peykov Foundation from Bulgaria dispatched 30 generators of various capacities to the Odesa region, Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Kharkiv, and the Kharkiv region. At the conclusion of the "Warmth for Ukraine" drive in the Republic of Moldova on February 13, 2026, a total of 481,900 Moldovan lei (equivalent to over 1,220,000 hryvnias) was raised.

International heating assistance for Ukraine continues to grow, marking a vital phase in supporting the country during its energy crisis. Given the ongoing challenges to Ukraine's energy grid, this international support is critical for meeting the basic needs of the population and maintaining the operation of key institutions. The delivery of generators and heaters will help sustain communities through the winter, contributing positively to the overall stability of the situation in the country.
