The total volume of Ukraine's defense needs in 2026 amounts to $120 billion, of which $60 billion must be provided by international partners. Denys Shmyhal thanked the partners for their contributions, which, he said,

“save lives, strengthen all of Europe, and bring us closer to true peace.”

The importance of international support

These commitments from international partners underscore the importance of collective security in the face of the ongoing military aggression faced by Ukraine. According to plans, the support provided will not only strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities but also contribute to stability in the region, which is crucial for overall European security. Thus, international cooperation continues to be a key element in Ukraine's struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
