В міжнародному реєстрі збитків відкрито нові категорії заяв: тепер бізнеси та державні установи можуть подавати заяви.

Updates to the International Damage Registry for Ukraine

The International Register of Damages for Ukraine (RD4U) has announced an expansion of its claim categories, introducing new options for businesses and government institutions. This update aims to improve the documentation of damage to the country's industrial and social infrastructure. The announcement was made by Ukraine's Ministry for Communities and Territories Development.

Key Areas of the Update

The update covers five key areas, divided between the public and private sectors. For the state, classified under Group B, categories B1.1 and B1.2 have been opened. These cover damage to critical and non-critical infrastructure and are intended for authorities, communities, municipalities, and state institutions. For businesses, classified under Group C, categories C1.1, C1.2, and C3.1 are now available. Category C3.1 specifically allows for documenting the physical destruction of property, loss of assets, lost profits, and business liquidation resulting from armed aggression.

Additionally, new services have been integrated into the Diia app, simplifying the claim submission process. Heads of legal entities can now submit claims themselves or appoint a responsible representative. A new Digital Authority feature is being launched to facilitate work for companies and government bodies within the Registry system. Submitted claims document the fact of a strike or occupation, as well as the actual costs incurred by the owner for repair or restoration of the property.

The International Register defines a total of 43 claim categories. Previously, 16 categories were launched for individuals (Group A), covering loss of housing, injuries, death of relatives, or forced displacement. It is important to note that the Damage Registry does not assess property value or award payments. Its role is to verify evidence and officially record claims. The collected data will be forwarded to the International Compensation Commission, underscoring the importance of this tool in the country's recovery process.

The expansion of claim categories in the International Damage Registry is a crucial step toward ensuring transparency and efficiency in Ukraine's recovery from war-related destruction.

The introduction of new opportunities for businesses and state institutions will allow for more detailed recording of the scale of damage and simplify the documentation process. This, in turn, will support better coordination of recovery and compensation efforts, as the collected data will form the basis for international aid and reparations.

As the International Damage Registry expands its offerings, understanding the implications of these new categories becomes crucial for affected entities. This update not only enhances the claims process but also aligns with broader efforts to address the aftermath of the ongoing conflict.
