During the martial law period in Ukraine, general mobilization continues, with the summons remaining the primary means of calling conscripts to mobilization points. However, if a citizen cannot appear as summoned, they must act in accordance with the law.
According to the Chernihiv Regional Department for the Service of Conscripts, citizens who have received a summons must appear at the place and time indicated in the document to update their data, undergo a medical examination, and enter their information into the register. If a citizen does not appear by the specified deadline, they must report the reasons for their absence within three days and arrive within seven days.
Absence may be justified by serious reasons, such as disaster, illness, or active hostilities in the area of residence, making it impossible to attend. This includes the death of close relatives, such as parents, wife or husband, children, brothers, sisters, grandparents, or relatives of the spouse.
The importance of records and documents for conscripts
Mobilization legislation requires all conscripted men to have continuous military registration at their place of residence, update their data in a timely manner, and carry the relevant documents - both paper and electronic. If this is required by representatives of military authorities, such as TCK, police, or border guards, these documents must be presented.
It should be noted that general mobilization in Ukraine was announced immediately after the invasion of the Russian Federation. Since then, significant attention has been paid to compliance with mobilization requirements, and interaction with military management services is regulated by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 560.
Ukraine remains in a state of martial law, and mobilization is crucial for ensuring the security and defense capability of the country. Citizens who receive a summons must comply with the laws and regulations, stay registered with the military, update their information, and have the necessary documents. Adhering to these requirements will help maintain Ukraine's defense capability in the face of security threats.
