Ukrainian Youth Centers to Feature Posters Honoring Cossack Valor

Молодь України відзначає героїзм козаків через художні виставки.

The 'Know Your Ukraine' Project

A new initiative under the 'Know Your Ukraine' educational project, created in partnership with the Pictoric artist collective and backed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has launched a series of posters celebrating Ukraine's martial heritage. Ten posters have been produced, each illustrating traditional Ukrainian proverbs and sayings tied to the Cossack era, courage, and military prowess. This collection is titled 'Whose Bravery, Theirs the Advantage.'

These posters will be displayed in over 20 youth centers operated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports across Ukraine. The centers can use them as a full exhibition or as standalone pieces during educational, cultural, and awareness-raising events.

“The Know Your Ukraine team, together with the artists of Pictoric, have created 10 posters that illustrate Ukrainian folk proverbs and sayings related to the Cossacks, courage, and military valor. The poster series 'Whose Bravery, Theirs the Advantage' will adorn the spaces of more than 20 youth centers of the Ministry of Youth and Sports throughout Ukraine,” noted philanthropist and project co-author Hnat Korobko.

Why This Initiative Matters

A key highlight of this effort is that over 18,000 participants have already completed the project's educational courses focused on the feasts of Intercession and Christmas.

“This exhibition is about the values that have shaped Ukrainians for generations: bravery, dignity, strength of spirit, responsibility, and love for one's land. Today, such meanings are especially important for young people, as they help maintain a connection to their own culture, history, and national identity,” emphasized Hnat Korobko.

This initiative helps preserve and promote Ukraine's cultural heritage among youth, a mission that has taken on new urgency given the challenges the country currently faces. The poster exhibition not only honors martial traditions but also underscores the importance of national identity—a vital element in fostering patriotism among the younger generation. The Ministry of Youth and Sports' backing reflects the state's commitment to cultural projects that build a positive image of Ukraine and its history.

In addition to this educational initiative, the ongoing efforts to support Ukraine's defenders and their families are also gaining attention. Recently, a photo exhibition was launched at a Kyiv metro station, showcasing the resilience of those who stand guard over the nation's freedom. Such projects collectively strengthen community ties and highlight the importance of cultural and national identity during challenging times.
