Supporting 'Children Abroad'
In a significant move to support its displaced youth, Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science has officially certified 68 educational centers across 25 countries. This initiative, part of the 'Children Abroad' policy, focuses on establishing a network of verified weekend schools. The primary goals are to provide quality Ukrainian-language education to children outside the country and to help them maintain a strong connection to their homeland. This effort is particularly crucial given the large number of families displaced by the ongoing conflict.
School certification is a vital step in legitimizing education received abroad. It confirms that these institutions meet Ukrainian state standards, which simplifies administrative processes for families. Official status ensures that a child's academic progress is recognized, making it far easier for them to reintegrate into Ukraine's education system upon their eventual return.
Assistance for Certified Schools
To support these newly certified schools, the Ministry of Education and Science, in partnership with the World Coordinating Educational Council (WCEC), is launching a series of 10 online meetings for school representatives. These sessions will address practical questions about organizing the educational process and facilitate the exchange of best practices among institutions.
