Monokate, participant of the National Selection for Eurovision-2026, talked about her preparation for the performance, her attitude towards the broadcast, and her financial experience participating in the competition. She specified that during her previous participation in 2021, the expenses for the trip amounted to about 300,000 US dollars. The artist shared this in a live broadcast on the YouTube channel “Slava Deyomin.”

In a live broadcast with Slava Deyomin, Monokate said that she does not feel intense excitement before the performance and perceives her participation in the selection as an opportunity to showcase her solo project. The artist explained that the rehearsal process helps clarify what needs further refinement, and for her, there is not much difference between a live broadcast and a recording.
Monokate noted that the preparation of the act is happening in a working mode, and she fully trusts the team of choreographers. She has not incurred any costs for creating this year's performance — everything necessary has been provided by the organizers.
Monokate on Eurovision and competition
The artist explained why she decided to participate in the National Selection for the second time. According to her, this is not a step for publicity, but a chance to develop as a musician and present herself to the international audience. She emphasized that the contest is not a decisive moment in her career but yet another important experience.
Monokate also commented on the bookmakers' ratings, mentioning that she does not build expectations based on these data. She considers it normal to perceive the rating as a measure, but the real result will only become clear after the live performances.
The singer admitted that she fundamentally did not vote for herself in previous years and does not plan to do so now. She also positively assessed the composition of the jury — from Ruslana and Zlata Ognevich to choreographer Konstantin Tomichenko, which, in her opinion, makes the evaluation diverse and professional.
