Warning about possible power outages
Chairman of the board of 'Ukrenergo' Vitalii Zaichenko warned about the possibility of implementing emergency and scheduled power outages in Ukraine due to severe frosts that may last for a week or more. Prolonged cooling at temperatures of -10 degrees and below can critically affect the country's energy system, necessitating electricity supply restrictions.
Zaichenko noted that in the event of prolonged frosts, the need for emergency and scheduled power outages will increase. He emphasized that it is critical for the energy system to have at least a week with such temperatures. However, according to him, more than four rounds of outages are unlikely if there are no new strikes on the energy infrastructure.
Recommendations for citizens
Considering the weather forecasts and possible changes in the energy situation, citizens are recommended to be prepared for possible outages in order to reduce the negative impact on Ukraine's energy system during winter frosts.
The statement by Vitalii Zaichenko emphasizes the importance of the population's readiness for potential difficulties in electricity supply, especially during winter cold.
