Weather Forecast for Ukraine
The severe frosts gripping Ukraine are set to ease. Meteorologists forecast a change in the weather pattern, with the Arctic cold air mass beginning to retreat from the country's territory on January 22. Daytime temperatures will rise to a range of -2 to -7 degrees Celsius. While overnight lows will initially drop to between -11 and -16 degrees, they are expected to moderate to -5 to -10 degrees by the week's end.
Daytime highs will generally fluctuate between -1 and -6 degrees. However, forecasters caution that this warming trend brings its own hazards, including potential icy glaze, patches of black ice, and fog. Meteorologist Vitaliy Pistryak notes that winter is far from over, warning that the end of January could still bring another wave of abnormally cold weather.
"Therefore, Ukrainians should be prepared for shifts in weather conditions in the coming days." – Vitaliy Pistryak
Impact of Weather Changes on Daily Life
The shifting conditions in Ukraine are likely to affect various aspects of daily life, including agriculture and road traffic. This temporary thaw, despite the risks of ice, may ease the transport of goods and general mobility. These conditions are typical for a Ukrainian winter, which often features sharp fluctuations. Authorities and the public are advised to remain vigilant, as potential temperature swings could lead to a renewed freeze, requiring attention from local services and residents.
