Беспілотники атакували Москву, паралізувавши роботу аеропортів та завдавши ударів по російським територіям.

Drone Strikes Target Moscow and Russian Regions

On February 15, 2024, Moscow came under a major drone assault, forcing the closure of airports and sending debris falling across the city. The attack began around 11:40 AM and lasted until at least 4:10 PM. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 18 drones were destroyed during the defense of the capital. Airports Domodedovo and Vnukovo were temporarily restricted due to the threat.

In the early hours of February 15, the Krasnodar region and the temporarily occupied Crimea were also targeted. Separately, on the night of February 12, a military facility in the village of Kotluban, Volgograd region, was struck. The governor of the Volgograd region, Andrei Bocharov, confirmed the attack and a resulting fire at the defense ministry facility caused by falling debris.

Attacks Across Other Regions

Furthermore, on the night of February 12, explosions were heard at the Progress plant in Michurinsk, Tambov region, marking the second time this facility has been targeted. The Bryansk region also faced a mass attack by jet-powered drones around midnight. Explosions were recorded on the outskirts of Bryansk, as well as in the towns of Dyatkovo, Fokino, and Sel'tso. Power outages were observed in the regional center of Bryansk.

Consequently, the situation in Moscow and Russian regions remains tense following the recent attacks, raising concerns about security within the country.

These events are unfolding against the backdrop of escalating military action in Ukraine and growing regional tensions.

The drone attacks on Russian territory may indicate new tactical approaches in military conflicts, which could have long-term consequences for regional security. The increasing frequency of strikes also underscores the need for enhanced defense and threat response systems to protect civilian populations and infrastructure. Any further escalation could lead to new cycles of conflict and heightened international tensions.
