Munich Conference 2026: Zelensky Calls for 2 Months of Ceasefire for Elections
At the Munich Security Conference in 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined a condition for holding elections.

Trilateral Negotiations in Geneva
Meanwhile, on February 17, trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the USA are set to begin in Geneva. The Russian delegation will be led by Vladimir Medinsky, and a representative of the Russian Federal Security Service, Sergey Kostiuk, will also participate in the meeting. The composition of the Ukrainian side has not changed.
The plan of the US special representative, Vitkov, envisions the completion of negotiations by mid-May-June 2026. Among the topics that may be discussed are territorial issues, as well as Russia's idea of external UN administration over Ukraine, which was put forward back in March 2025 and confirmed for discussion by Russian Foreign Minister Hauzin.
