The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has informed about the age restrictions for drivers. You can start driving mopeds and motorcycles at the age of 16, and from the age of 18, it is permitted to drive passenger cars. Those who wish to drive vehicles with heavy trailers must reach the age of 19, while passenger transport can be driven from the age of 21.



More complex types of transport require additional experience. Driving vehicles with heavy trailers is only available after the age of 19, while passenger transport can be driven from the age of 21.


Non-compliance with these rules can lead to serious financial penalties. For example, an underage driver who sits behind the wheel without permission may receive a fine of 3400 hryvnias, and parents will be held responsible if their child drives a vehicle before the age of 16.



In particular, the driver's licenses of Ukrainians are currently being updated to plastic documents for display in an online cabinet. New rules have also been introduced regarding traveling abroad, and the police have intensified control over compliance with language norms used by drivers and transport companies.



In Ukraine, age restrictions for driving vehicles have been established that must be followed to avoid fines and other negative consequences. The update of driver's licenses has also begun, and control over compliance with language norms during communication when stopped by police has been strengthened.
