New Support System for Vulnerable Populations

Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy and Ministry of Internal Affairs have jointly established a new emergency response system for vulnerable citizens. The 112 emergency service, operated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will now collect and process requests for assistance from the elderly, people with limited mobility, and families with children.

Critical Role During Energy Crisis

This initiative is particularly vital given the ongoing energy crisis, which has placed severe strain on essential services. Calls received through the 112 hotline will be routed directly into the national social protection system to ensure prompt delivery of aid to these at-risk groups.

The launch represents a major advancement in strengthening Ukraine's social safety net, especially as vulnerable populations face heightened challenges due to infrastructure strain. This collaboration between social and internal affairs ministries also demonstrates how government agencies can coordinate effectively to address urgent public needs during a national emergency. The system is designed to provide a streamlined, single point of contact for those requiring immediate support.
