Virtual Meeting with JICA
Led by State Secretary Inna Yashchuk, representatives of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs recently held an online discussion with officials from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The focus was on implementing a Japanese grant to supply precision surgical equipment to the Ministry’s Main Medical Clinical Center. The meeting centered on the grant’s goal to equip the center with state-of-the-art surgical technology.
Attendees from JICA participated actively, and a meeting protocol was formally agreed upon. The project will be executed by Crown Agents, a company responsible for procuring and delivering the equipment as well as training medical staff. The Ministry’s Main Medical Clinical Center and its Health Department will oversee the effective deployment and ongoing use of the new technology.
The Importance of This Collaboration
During the talks, Inna Yashchuk emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating:
“This goes beyond shared goals and values—it is a tangible reinforcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ healthcare capabilities.”
To expedite the project’s launch, all parties agreed on promptly signing the meeting protocol.
This Japanese-backed program marks a vital advancement in strengthening Ukraine’s medical infrastructure within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, particularly by addressing the need for cutting-edge equipment to enhance healthcare services. Collaboration with JICA highlights the global support for Ukraine’s efforts to improve health outcomes.
