Recovery teams have retrieved the bodies of four individuals who drowned in the Dniester River on June 24. The victims include a 7-year-old boy, a 49-year-old man, a 16-year-old teenager, and an 8-year-old boy. Their remains were discovered on June 25 and 26. The case has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, classified as an 'accident.'

Search Operation Underway

On June 25, law enforcement officers and rescue workers located the bodies of a 7-year-old boy and his 49-year-old father in the water near the village of Repuzhyntsi in Chernivtsi District. The pair had gone missing in the area. That same day, the body of a 16-year-old resident of the village of Moshanets in Dnistrovskyi District was found. Preliminary reports indicate he jumped into the water from a height. The following day, June 26, the body of an 8-year-old boy was recovered from the riverbed.

All recovered bodies have been sent for forensic examination. A large-scale search operation, which had been ongoing since reports of people going missing in the Dniester River, ended in tragedy. Bukovina police are urging the public to strictly follow water safety rules while relaxing near bodies of water, to never leave children unattended, and to swim only in designated and properly equipped areas.

A pre-trial investigation is still in progress.
