The 2026 Ice Hockey World Championship has locked in its four quarterfinal pairings, with all games scheduled for May 28. The reigning world champion is the United States, which defeated Switzerland 1–0 in overtime in the 2025 World Championship final. Additionally, Ukraine and Kazakhstan have earned promotion to the elite division based on their performances in the 2026 World Championship Division IA. Great Britain and Italy have been relegated from the top tier.
