This year, farmers in Chernihiv Region decided to surprise Ukrainians: their new gimmick is square watermelons! They borrowed this experiment from Japan, where they have long been growing watermelons in unusual shapes and colors. Among the yellow, red, and pink watermelons are even square ones!
«Green, which is red inside; green, which is yellow inside; black outside, red inside; light green – elongated; «Egyptian» – pink inside. And the square watermelon», – shows the harvest the farmer.
To grow such watermelons, it is necessary to follow certain rules and be ready to invest a lot of patience and work. However, farmers from Kyseliovka have already seen the first results and are pleased – one such watermelon in a special shape can weigh as much as four kilograms!
Ukrainian consumers may not get to taste these square wonders before the summer due to weather conditions, but farmers in the renewed farm are already preparing new varieties of watermelons that delight the eye and stomach. May the summer season be delicious and bright – even if the watermelon is square!
