The prosecutor's office reported that the former head and deputy of one of the departments of the regional branch of JSC 'Ukrzaliznytsia', as well as the director of the contracting company, were suspected of misappropriating budget funds and official forgery. According to the investigation, the officials, acting in collusion with the director of the LLC, organized a scheme to embezzle state funds allocated for the development of forestry documentation and the registration of land rights.
After winning a public tender, the officials signed acceptance acts despite the fact that the contract terms had not been fulfilled. The contractor was illegally paid more than 6.7 million UAH of budget funds. Currently, the issue of applying preventive measures for the suspects is being discussed, and the investigation is ongoing.
