Ukrainian Armed Forces Officer Dies in Combat

Ivan Katsiuk, a 37-year-old officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was killed in the Kharkiv region. He served as the commander of the unmanned systems company within the 105th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. Born in Ternopil, he attended School No. 4 in the city before earning a degree in banking business from Ternopil National Economic University. Following his studies, Ivan started his own business and was also an avid rower.

Military Service and Remembrance

Katsiuk joined the Armed Forces after the full-scale invasion began in 2022, enlisting in the 105th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. Initially serving in reconnaissance, he later took command of the drone company. His call sign was 'Bratello.' He died on February 5, 2026, after being listed as missing in action for several weeks.

A farewell ceremony for Ivan Katsiuk was held in mid-April, and he was laid to rest at the Heroes’ Pantheon of the Mykulynetske Cemetery in Ternopil. Friends and comrades remember him as a dependable person.
