Ukrainian Defender Volodymyr Shadura Killed in Action
On February 4, 2026, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Shadura was killed while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Podoly in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region. The Life and Service of Volodymyr Shadura
Volodymyr Shadura was born on June 27, 1980, in the village of Tovkachi, Gladkovytska community. He began first grade at Ovruch Lyceum No. 1 in 1987 and graduated from Ovruch Vocational School No. 35 in 1998. That same year, he was conscripted for mandatory military service. From 2001 to 2016, he served under contract in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Between December 2016 and April 2018, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Chasiv Yar.
During his military career, Shadura performed combat duties in the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation zone. This included service near Vovnovakha in Donetsk Oblast in 2015, and from February to October 2020 in the Novoluhanske area. In 2019, he worked as a truck-mounted aerial platform operator for the KP Ovruch utility company. From October 2019 to November 2023, he held the position of commander of an automobile platoon in a logistics support company. From December 2023, Junior Sergeant Volodymyr Shadura served as a master for the 3rd Section of Strike Unmanned Aerial Systems in a mechanized battalion, a role critical to Ukraine's innovative defense against a larger invading force.
Volodymyr is remembered in the hearts of his family and loved ones. He is survived by his mother, Olha Ivanivna; his wife, Mariia Semenivna; his daughters, Darina and Viktoriia; and his brother, Ihor Oleksandrovych. His life stands as a bright example of service to his homeland and dedication to the military profession.
