Military Service and Legacy

Vitaliy Fedoruk was a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. After completing his studies, he performed his compulsory military service. When Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he stepped forward to defend his country. During the war, he fought on multiple critical fronts:

  • The Mykolaiv direction
  • The Kherson direction
  • The Donetsk direction
  • The Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction

Serving with the 27th Separate Pechora Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Vitaliy leaves behind his pregnant wife, a son, parents, a sister, grandmothers, a mother-in-law, and a large extended family who will remember him as a courageous defender. His funeral was held on April 2, 2026, at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv, in Field of Honor No. 87 (Pasicchna Street). This loss underscores the immense price Ukrainians continue to pay for their nation's freedom and independence. The Kharkiv region has been a focal point of intense fighting since the war's outset, making his sacrifice there particularly poignant.
