Safety Warning from Rescue Services

In the wake of this tragedy, rescue authorities issued a public warning, stressing the critical importance of following basic water safety guidelines. They urged the public to:

  • never leave children unsupervised near water, even if they know how to swim;
  • avoid swimming in unapproved, wild, or untested areas;
  • refrain from entering the water while under the influence of alcohol;
  • exercise caution during sudden changes in air temperature.
“Remember, ignoring basic safety rules costs lives,” stated representatives of the State Emergency Service.

This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the need to follow water safety protocols during leisure time and underscores the responsibility of adults to ensure children's safety. With rising temperatures and increased activity near bodies of water, it is crucial to remain vigilant and cautious to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The recommendations from rescue personnel should be a priority for anyone spending time near water.

This incident is not isolated, as similar tragedies have occurred recently, highlighting the urgent need for increased awareness of water safety. For instance, two foreign nationals drowned in Kyiv's Hydropark, further emphasizing the dangers that can arise near water bodies. It is crucial for families to prioritize safety measures to prevent such heartbreaking events from recurring.
