Tragedy in Tashan
An 84-year-old man lost his life on June 15, 2024, following a fire that broke out after three gas canisters exploded in the village of Tashan, Boryspil District. The incident occurred in the afternoon, with police receiving a report of the blaze at 3:44 PM. The fire started in an outbuilding on the grounds of a private residence. Emergency responders discovered the victim's body while extinguishing the flames.
Rescue teams from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate the fire was triggered by the explosion of three gas canisters. Police have opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses violations of fire safety regulations resulting in a fatality.

Separately, a fire broke out in a multi-story apartment building in the settlement of Kalita, Brovary District, leading to the evacuation of 14 residents, with one person rescued. In Kyiv's Holosiivskyi District, firefighters also extinguished a blaze in a three-story unused structure.
