New rules for trucks at the border: how the operation of eQueue has changed

Нові вимоги для вантажівок на митниці: зміни в роботі електронної черги

Today, new rules for freight vehicles have come into effect at Ukrainian borders. The improved 'eQueue' system aims to help avoid traffic jams, artificial queue increases, and improve conditions for honest carriers. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development.

The rules for extending the waiting time for trucks have changed - now one can only choose between 4, 6, 8, or 10 hours.

This approach aims to eliminate the possibility of abusing extensions for convenience or evading border crossings on weekends, the agency explained.

The system will monitor if a user replaced a vehicle during one queue and used an extension for both vehicles, accounting for each separately. A new extension will only become available after 60 days.

The Ministry also banned registering a new queue for a freight vehicle for 14 days in case of violations. All violations will be displayed in the user cabinet on the 'eQueue' website.

Agreement on the liberalization of freight transport

We also remind you that the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, together with the European Commission, has concluded an agreement to extend the visa-free regime for freight transportation for another 15 months. The so-called 'transport visa-free regime' will remain in effect until March 2027. Ukrainian and European carriers will continue to have the opportunity to carry out bilateral and transit transport without special permits.

As a result of the implementation of new queuing rules for freight vehicles at the borders of Ukraine, it is expected to facilitate the border crossing process for honest carriers and to avoid artificial queues. Additionally, the extension of the agreement on the liberalization of freight transportation with the European Union will contribute to further simplification and increase in the volume of international transport without the need for special permits.
