The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) has warned citizens about the need for more time to cross the border with Poland due to the implementation of a new recording system. This process, which includes the collection of biometric data, may lead to delays in processing, especially in the initial phase. This was reported by SBGS spokesperson Colonel Andriy Demchenko.

The European Union plans to implement this new system in all Schengen countries. Poland has already started testing to ensure more effective operations and avoid queues in the future. They warn that crossing time may increase due to the mandatory recording of biometric data, especially for pedestrians and motorists.

According to Demchenko, as of Thursday morning, no large queues were detected at the border. At the same time, it is worth recalling that the Polish Senate has supported the bill regarding the status of Ukrainian refugees and the conditions of social assistance without changes. This document is awaiting the signature of President Karol Nawrocki before coming into force.

The Deputy Minister of the Interior of Poland, Maciej Duszczyk, expressed hope that the president would sign the bill in its current form. He emphasized that the government and the president share the same position on health care, legal residence, access to the labor market, and limits on family benefits.
