On Thursday, July 24, a farewell ceremony for the commander of the unified assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine 'Lut', Maxim Kazban, took place at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing 'Suspilne'.
The initial task for Maxim was to preserve the personnel, noted Colonel of Police Budenko during the event.
Colonel Maxim Kazban led the 'Lut' brigade since September 2024, but had been defending Ukraine since 2014. He participated in special operations, one of which took place near Chernobaevka. Since the formation of the brigade, Maxim Kazban held the position of the first deputy head of the special policing department.
It should be noted that the commander of the unified assault brigade of the National Police 'Lut', Maxim Kazban, died in a car accident in the Donetsk region. National Police Chief Ivan Vyhovsky emphasized that the man was a person of honor, words, courage, and spirit, a true warrior and patriot of his country.
Reaction to the Loss
President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the loss of the commander of the 'Lut' brigade, noting that this is a heavy loss for the country.
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of the capital chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for prosecutor Andriy Molochny, who hit a woman on Velyka Vasylkivska Street. The victim later died in the hospital.
The death of the commander of the 'Lut' assault brigade has become a great tragedy for the Ukrainian police. Maxim Kazban was known as an experienced warrior and a true patriot; his loss has shocked many citizens and high-ranking officials, including the president of the country.
