The funeral of the People's Artist of Ukraine, Stepan Higa, took place at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. The well-known singer passed away at the age of 66. A young tree, brought from his native Transcarpathia, was planted on Higa's grave. Many people mistakenly referred to the tree as a maple, which the singer mentioned in his song, but in fact, it is a regular Christmas tree.
Relatives and fans of Higa present at the funeral shared a video of them planting the tree on his grave, symbolizing the preservation of the singer's roots in his homeland.
Stepan Higa was born in Transcarpathia, and his work is famous for hits like 'This Dream', 'Maple', and 'Gold of the Carpathians'.
