Farewell to the Hero

In Rivne region on January 3, a farewell was held for Sergeant Vasyl Deshchynskyi, who died in battle against Russian occupiers in Kharkiv region on December 23, 2025. This tragic event was a heavy blow to the family, friends, and the entire community, as Vasyl was not only a soldier but also a patriot who was known and respected.

Vasyl Deshchynskyi was born on February 13, 1981, in the village of Ozeriany in Dubno district. His journey to military service began in 2014 when he joined the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade. During his service, he established himself as a principled, always open and straightforward serviceman, possessing a keen sense of justice.

The farewell to the Hero took place at Independence Square in Rivne, where relatives, friends, and concerned residents gathered to honor the memory of the fallen.

Memory of Vasyl

After the farewell, Vasyl Deshchynskyi was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the 'Tynne' cemetery in Rivne. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, who will remember him as a sincere patriot of Ukraine. Vasyl's wife's words reflect his essence:

'Principled, always open and straightforward, with a keen sense of justice, a sincere patriot of Ukraine.'

This tragic loss will leave a deep mark in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
