Drones attacked a Russian oil refinery in Kirishi: fire engulfed a key facility

On the night of October 4, drones attacked the 'Kirishinefteorgsintez' oil refinery in the Leningrad region of Russia. This plant is located 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out on the premises.



According to an analysis of photographs from the scene conducted by the monitoring group ASTRA, the presence of a fire at the oil refinery has been confirmed. Currently, detailed information about the affected plant is not specified, but the governor of the Leningrad region confirmed the incident and reported the successful extinguishing of the fire.



Satellite images from NASA FIRMS show the fire outbreak near the 'Kirishinefteorgsintez' oil refinery, one of the largest in Russia. This is already the fourth attack on this facility, with previous incidents occurring in September 2025, March 2025, and March 2024.


On the night of October 4, the 'Kirishinefteorgsintez' oil refinery in the Leningrad region of Russia was the target of a drone attack. This event is not the first for this company, which is one of the largest in Russia. An analysis of photographs confirmed the aftermath of the attack, and the regional governor reported effective firefighting.
