An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 on the Richter scale occurred in the Ternopil region, recorded by the Main Center for Special Control. The tremors happened around 21:33:58 on December 11 and were felt by people. In July 2025, a similar event occurred near Poltava, indicating that earthquakes in Ukraine are not very rare.
Since the beginning of this year, over fifty tremors have already been recorded in the country, which raises some questions about the safety of geological objects. According to a scientific researcher, rocket explosions cannot cause earthquakes in Ukraine due to insufficient energy compared to the enormous mass of geological objects.
Such natural phenomena should be studied and we should be prepared for possible consequences in the future.
