Ukrainian athletes killed in the war: a tennis player, hockey players, and a kickboxing champion

Losses in Ukrainian sports due to the war:


The Ukrainian sports community has lost remarkable representatives such as Anton Bondarenko, Oleksandr Poida, Andrii Sirobot, Mykhailo Tolstyiak, Oleksandr Nikolov, and Karina Bahur, who died at the front.


Anton Bondarenko, who was previously a fixer, decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine and died in the Kharkiv area. Oleksandr Poida, known as a hockey player and coach, was killed in battle in Kharkiv region. Andrii Sirobot, a master of sports in judo, sacrificed his life for the war.


Mykhailo Tolstyiak, a football player and scout operator, died near Hrekivka in Luhansk region. Oleksandr Nikolov, also a hockey player, gave his life in battles with occupiers. The kickboxing champion Karina Bahur was killed during an enemy attack in Kharkiv region.

These outstanding athletes were ready to give everything for Ukraine. In memory of the heroes who became true defenders of our country!



The news describes the losses of Ukrainian sports as a result of the war. Six outstanding athletes have died at the front, giving their lives to protect their native land. Their contribution to the development of Ukrainian sports and their high patriotism will remain inexpressible. We honor the memory of these heroes, who became symbols of courage and selflessness.
