In battles with the Russian army, Anton Stasiv, the grandson of the prominent political prisoner Levko Luk'yanenko, was killed. This sad news was announced by the dissident and people's deputy of the first convocation, Oles Shevchenko, on his Facebook.
Oles Shevchenko expressed condolences to the family of the fallen hero, writing: 'Dear Mrs. Nadiya, I express my deepest condolences to you and the entire family of Levko Luk'yanenko in connection with the tragic death of your beloved grandson Anton at the front. Eternal and bright memory to the Hero – he laid down his life for Ukraine!'

She noted: 'The grandson of the symbol of moral resilience and loyalty to the Ukrainian idea, Levko Luk'yanenko – has fallen. The grandfather spent 25 years in Soviet prisons and camps – the grandson joined the military to prevent that kind of prison oppression here. The grandfather wrote the Act of proclamation of Ukraine's independence – the grandson laid down his life for that independence.'
Later, the journalist apologized for the incorrect information about the death of Levko Luk'yanenko's grandson Zakhar. It turned out that Anton, Zakhar's brother, who continues to defend Ukraine, was the one killed.
