Detention of the Acting Head of the TCC in Volyn
In Volyn, the acting head of the regional territorial recruitment center (TCC) was detained for removing conscripts from the wanted list for money. It became known that the official demanded thousands of dollars for his services. One of the conscripts paid $3,000 for removal from the wanted list, while the first part of the payment was $1,500.
The detention took place during the receipt of the second part of the payment. According to law enforcement, the suspect has already been notified of suspicion under part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for a term of up to ten years. An investigation is currently ongoing, as well as searches of the suspect.
Other cases of corruption in the TCC
In addition, it is worth noting that the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) announced suspicion against another TCC officer in Mykolaiv for beating conscripts. Furthermore, SBI officers detained a resident of the capital who attempted to defraud $100,000. The investigation into these cases continues.
These events point to serious problems with corruption and abuses in the military accounting system in Ukraine. The detention of officials who use their position for personal gain underscores the need for enhanced control and reforms in the military sector. As investigations continue, this could be an important step in the fight against corruption in state institutions involved in military recruitment.
