Illegal Export of Aircraft Component Intercepted at Border
Customs officers in Ukraine's Zakarpattia region have prevented an attempt to smuggle a military aircraft part into Hungary. The incident occurred when authorities inspected a minibus driven by a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen. Inside the vehicle's cargo area, they discovered a pallet holding an unmarked metal structure resembling an aircraft landing gear assembly—a component typically used in aviation technology.
The driver carried no permits or authorization documents for transporting the item.
“The driver had no permission documents for moving this object whatsoever,”stated the State Customs Service of Ukraine. Because this violation shows signs of a criminal offense under Article 333 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, the Zakarpattia Customs Office has notified law enforcement agencies about the illegal activity.
