A smuggling channel for illegal transportation of people across the state border was uncovered in Transcarpathia. The criminals used cars and motorcycles for this, planning to complete the smuggling by crossing the Tisza River. According to the State Border Guard Service, border guards, together with the SBU and police, uncovered this channel.
As a result of the operation on the outskirts of the village of Voditsa in the Rakhiv district, two residents of Kyiv were detained while attempting to smuggle five men from other regions of Ukraine to Romania. These traffickers set a route that included motorcycle escort for the Volkswagen vehicle carrying the passengers. The cost of the service ranged from $10 to $20 thousand for each person being smuggled.
Officials compiled administrative materials against the detainees under the articles of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The organizers were also detained and informed of suspicion under the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Previously, contraband of gadgets was also uncovered at the Odesa customs, which was attempted to be imported into the country by a Ukrainian citizen.
