In Budapest, the first official Ukrainian-Hungarian schools and gymnasiums have been opened. The first educational institution of the Ukrainian community is named after Taras Shevchenko. The school provides education in the native language, as do two other bilingual institutions that have emerged over the past year and a half.
reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine. The first official Ukrainian-Hungarian school and gymnasium already educates 360 children, while the new institution in Budapest will start with primary classes and will later develop into a secondary school.
According to the MFA of Ukraine, this year, another Ukrainian school based on a local educational and upbringing complex also received a state license.
'Previously, it existed as an educational center, and now there will be a full-fledged educational process in the Ukrainian language for about 300 Ukrainian children. A kindergarten will also operate within the school. The establishment and operation of this school became possible thanks to the cooperation of the Ukrainian organization 'Unity' and the Hungarian Autonomous Orthodox Jewish Community. Thus, the institution will become a center for dialogue among three cultures - Ukrainian, Hungarian, and Jewish,' the MFA reported.
In addition to these three schools, there is a network of Ukrainian educational centers and Sunday schools in Hungary where children from Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Hungarian families study.
It was previously reported that the Hungarian government refused to support the European Union community in condemning the Russian missile strike on Kyiv. We remind you that on the night of August 28, the Russian army launched an attack on Kyiv. As a result of the attack, 25 people were killed, including four children.
