Ukraine celebrates National Police Day on July 4. This holiday was established by the decree of the President of Ukraine in 2015 to commemorate the work of law enforcement officers who ensure public order, the safety of citizens, and protect national interests. National Police Day was previously celebrated on August 4, but since 2018, it has been celebrated on July 4.

Currently, police officers are also actively participating in the defense of the country amid Russian aggression. They work on the front lines, assisting vulnerable populations, clearing territories of explosives, and ensuring stability. The law defines the status of the police as a central executive authority and establishes the procedures for law enforcement activities.

Ivan Vyhovsky, head of the National Police of Ukraine, emphasized: 'We are holding the internal front and ensuring safety in the communities. Police officers are the first where there is danger, where help and protection are needed, in the hottest spots.'

On this day, law enforcement officers are also congratulated on Police Day in poetry and prose, expressing gratitude for their work and courage. Furthermore, in Ukraine, this day is marked as the Day of Forensic Experts and the Day of Country Music.
