On the evening of July 10, Ukrainians could observe a rare full moon, named the 'Deer Supermoon'. Residents of Kyiv actively shared impressive photos of this phenomenon on social media.

The name 'Deer Moon' originated because, in 2025, this will be the most distant moon from the Sun and the lowest in the sky. The moon rises on the eastern horizon and moves across the southern sky, often appearing with an orange hue.

«The name 'Deer Moon' comes from the tradition of indigenous peoples of North America, when male deer start to grow their antlers, and this is considered the beginning of the hunting season.

It's also worth noting that a month ago, Ukrainians had the opportunity to see another rare full moon, which is called the 'Strawberry Moon'. This astronomical event attracted significant interest among people.

«The first full moon of summer, or the 'Strawberry Moon', usually rises one day after the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. At this time, it is very low on the horizon.

Ukrainians were amazed by the 'Deer Supermoon', which became an interesting phenomenon due to its rarity and uniqueness in the sky. This once again proves how nature is capable of giving us magical moments of observation.
