New Payment Option for Gas Bills
Naftogaz of Ukraine has announced a new initiative allowing consumers to pay for natural gas and distribution services using funds from the state-run National Cashback program. This move is designed to help reduce household utility costs for Ukrainian citizens. The program is part of a broader effort to provide financial relief during a challenging economic period.
How the National Cashback Program Works
The National Cashback program refunds 10% of the cost spent on eligible Ukrainian goods and services, with a monthly payout cap of 3,000 hryvnias. By applying these refunds to their gas bills, consumers can achieve significant savings on their monthly expenses.
Payments can be made using various online platforms, including:
- the Naftogaz mobile app
- the gas.ua website
- a personal online account
- chat-bots
To complete the transaction, users must select the utility payment option and confirm it with their cashback-linked card. Furthermore, customers who settle their gas bills by the 15th of the month will receive an additional 1% discount. This new policy offers a financially advantageous option for many households.
The integration of cashback for gas payments represents a government and corporate effort to ease the financial burden on the public. It also aims to incentivize the purchase of domestic goods and services, thereby providing support to the national economy. The overall success of this initiative will depend on public awareness and the willingness of consumers to adopt this new payment method.
