The state group 'Naftogaz' together with international partners has allocated 2.5 billion US dollars for the purchase of gas to ensure Ukraine during the heating season, the company's press service reported.
The total amount consists of Naftogaz's own funds of 1 billion dollars and an additional 1.5 billion dollars raised from international financial institutions. The head of the board of NJSC 'Naftogaz of Ukraine,' Serhiy Koretsky, emphasized the critical situation with gas production in the country, which forces a significant increase in the import of energy carriers.
'Before the heating season, the enemy is likely to attack gas infrastructure again, and this is pure terrorism,' noted Koretsky.
Currently, the company has already contracted 95% of the gas required for the start of the heating season, indicating readiness for winter. The involvement of funds from international partners demonstrates the trust of the global community in Ukraine and underscores the strategic importance of the country's energy security for all of Europe.
