In 2026, the cost of public transport in Ukraine significantly differs depending on the city. In some regional centers, the fare has already reached 25-30 UAH per trip, while in other cities, transport remains one of the cheapest in the country. This is reported by Borgexpert.

Lviv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro are among the cities with the most expensive fares

One of the most expensive cities for public transport is Lviv. When paying in cash, the fare costs 25 UAH, although cashless payment allows reducing the fare to 17-20 UAH.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, the basic fare for public transport also reaches 25 UAH. Meanwhile, when paying with a card or QR code, the price is lower — around 20 UAH.

In Kharkiv, public transport remains free, but private minibuses have become some of the most expensive in Ukraine — from 25 to 30 UAH per trip.

In Dnipro, from May 9, the fare in minibuses and buses is planned to be raised to 23 UAH due to the increase in the price of diesel fuel.

In many cities, fares already cost over 20 UAH

In Uzhhorod, after the last tariff review, 20 UAH was introduced for cashless payments and 23 UAH — for cash payments to the driver.

Cities with high fares also include:

  1. Odesa — 20 UAH in minibuses.
  2. Ternopil — up to 20 UAH depending on the payment method.
  3. Poltava — 25 UAH in private minibuses.
  4. Mykolaiv — up to 30 UAH on certain routes.

In most large cities of Ukraine, transport already costs between 15-20 UAH per trip.

Some of the most affordable fares also remain in Kyiv, Lutsk, Kropyvnytskyi, and Sumy.

In the capital, the fare for the metro, buses, trams, and trolleybuses costs 8 UAH. Meanwhile, in private minibuses, the price has already reached 20 UAH.
