Russia plans to spend about $1.1 trillion on rearmament until 2036. This is the largest armament program of the Russian Federation since the collapse of the USSR. This was stated by the head of the GUR MO of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kirilo Budanov, during his speech at a panel discussion during the annual meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors 'Intelligence, Security, Diplomacy: A Joint Strategy for Victory', informs 'Glavkom'.
'A total mobilization of the politics, economy, and society of the Russian Federation is taking place in preparation for a future large-scale war,' said Budanov. According to him, within the framework of military reform in Russia, two new military districts have already been created - the Moscow and Leningrad districts - and the formation of new divisions, units, and military parts is also planned.
'Russia seeks to destroy the current security and economic order. To this end, Moscow is increasing its presence in Africa, primarily using its proxy forces: the Wagner PMC and the African Corps, as well as supporting authoritarian regimes and terrorist organizations around the world,' emphasized the head of the GUR.
Moreover, as Budanov noted, Russians are attempting to conduct hybrid information and cyber operations in the territories of other states, intervening in the civilized democratic process through controlled media and opinion leaders.
Recall that leading Russian banks, including Sberbank and VTB, are preparing for a wave of defaults at the end of 2025 - beginning of 2026 due to the high interest rate and the deterioration of the financial condition of borrowers.
Russia plans record expenses for rearmament until 2036, which is openly hinted at by the head of the GUR MO of Ukraine. The formation of new military districts and the acquisition of new military capabilities by Russia are expected, which may affect security not only within the country but also in the region and the world as a whole.
