The Minister Emphasizes the Importance of Reliability of the Future Pension System
Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denis Ulyutin emphasized that before implementing the accumulated component of the pension system, there must be a reliable mechanism for preserving citizens' funds. Work on this tool is already underway in collaboration with international partners.
'The issue of the accumulated system is, first and foremost, a question of resource preservation. It's not even a question of the possibility of use in conditions of military conflicts,'the minister emphasized during the presentation of the government action plan.
Ulyutin also noted that trust in the future system is a key aspect. Citizens must have confidence that their investments will not lose value over time. At the same time, he acknowledged that under current conditions, when the domestic financial market is still not sufficiently developed, it is difficult to find an internal preservation mechanism.
The Government is Seeking Solutions to Protect Pension Accumulations
The minister believes that investing in government bonds as a temporary protection for accumulations may pose a problem. According to him, the resources directed to government bonds by pension funds may create problems in the future.
The government, together with international experts, is searching for a 'financial support' that would ensure the protection of pension accumulations from inflation until the full development of the financial market in Ukraine.
The minister's comments draw attention to the importance of creating mechanisms that guarantee the reliability and preservation of the value of citizens' pension accumulations. The government continues to collaborate with international experts to find the optimal solution to this issue.
