Forecaster Natalka Didenko Warns of Impending Heat as July 29 Weather Details Emerge

Прогноз погоди на 29 липня: Наталка Діденко попереджає про спеку, що насувається.

July 29 Forecast: Brief Rains and Thunderstorms in Eastern Regions

On Wednesday, July 29, remnants of a cold front will trigger short-lived showers and thunderstorms across Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, and northern Luhansk. Most of the country will experience dry conditions. Daytime highs are expected to range from +22°C to +25°C, with southern areas reaching +24–28°C and northern regions staying cooler at +20–22°C. In Kyiv, rain is unlikely and temperatures will climb to +22–23°C. Meteorologist Natalka Didenko described the conditions as "delightful—like Turkish delight!" with Wednesday's highs between +22°C and +25°C. Winds will be moderate from the northwest, occasionally gusty.

Late July and Early August: Intense Heat Arrives

The final days of July and the start of August will usher in a true heatwave across Ukraine, raising the risk of wildfires. Didenko stressed the need for heat preparedness: wear lightweight, natural fabrics; ensure fans and air conditioners are operational; stock up on water and ice; apply sunscreen and wear hats; keep food fresh; and provide water for outdoor animals. Kyiv has already experienced a sharp temperature drop on July 28, and last weekend heavy downpours and squalls struck the country.

Ukrainians should brace for shifting conditions that could affect daily life. The rising August temperatures pose serious challenges, particularly regarding fire hazards. Following meteorologists' advice on heat preparation is crucial to protect health and safety. This weather pattern—transitioning from a cool, unstable front to a prolonged hot spell—is a typical summer shift in Ukraine's continental climate.

As temperatures continue to rise, it’s essential to stay informed about the upcoming weather changes. This weekend is expected to bring not only extreme heat, reaching up to 38°C, but also the possibility of thunderstorms. Understanding these conditions can help you prepare effectively.
