Key Outcomes of the NATO Summit in Ankara
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has summarized the results of the NATO summit held in Ankara. Allies announced new support packages, including $70 billion over two years, reflecting the Alliance’s commitment to backing Ukraine amid the ongoing war. U.S. President Donald Trump also raised the possibility of granting Ukraine a license to produce Patriot systems. Meetings and Agreements at the Summit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held around twenty meetings at the summit, concluding three drone-related agreements with key allies. During the talks, he met with the presidents of South Korea and Poland. An agreement on joint production of BARS drones was also signed with Germany’s defense minister. For his part, Andrii Sybiha participated in roughly two dozen meetings at the ministerial level.
The summit was preceded by ballistic missile attacks in Ankara, occurring both before and during the event. This underscored the urgency of the security discussions and the need to support Ukraine. During the summit, NATO identified three core priorities:
