Introducing the 'Culturally Sensitive Recovery Strategy'
In spring 2027, Ukraine will unveil a comprehensive catalog featuring standard spatial design solutions aimed at community rebuilding projects. This will be part of the second school under the initiative called the 'Culturally Sensitive Recovery Strategy,' led by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine through the 'Culture in Recovery' platform. The initiative spans from 2025 to 2027, with the second school commencing in September 2026 and concluding in December of the same year.
Focused on project development leaders, the second school builds on the groundwork laid by the first phase, which developed a methodology and engaged 12 frontline communities in a pilot program. By summer 2027, the initiative plans to publish detailed methodological guidance for local communities and educators, alongside launching educational online projects such as Dream Academy and 'CuRe: Education.'

- Transforming a former tram substation into a City Museum in Mykolaiv;
- Reimagining the hospital’s admission and diagnostic unit in Trostianets;
- Creating an active aging center in Pivdenne.
In addition to cultural recovery efforts, 2026 is expected to bring significant economic challenges for Ukrainian businesses due to Russian attacks, with potential losses reaching $10 billion USD. In response, the government is considering the establishment of an insurance fund to support enterprises during the rebuilding phase. Funding for this initiative may come from an increase in the value-added tax (VAT).
