Political Party Financial Reporting for 2024-2025
The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAZK) has concluded the financial reporting period for Ukraine's political parties covering 2024-2025. According to the agency, the deadline for submitting reports for the fourth quarter of 2025 passed on February 10. A total of 269 parties filed their disclosures on time, indicating a reduction in the number of organizations failing to meet their obligations.
Ukraine has 400 registered political parties, with 72 of these currently in a state of suspension. At the start of 2024, only 203 parties submitted their reports punctually. However, the number of non-compliant parties has decreased from 198 in the first quarter of 2024 to 130 by the fourth quarter of 2025. This means 130 parties failed to submit the required financial reports for the final quarter of last year.
Penalties for Non-Compliance
Failure to submit these financial reports carries penalties under Article 212-21 of Ukraine's Code of Administrative Offenses. Fines for non-submission can range from 5,100 to 6,800 hryvnias. The submitted reports of political parties are publicly accessible in the POLITDATA Register.
The increase in parties filing on time may signal improving compliance with transparency laws among Ukraine's political organizations. This trend could result from both heightened oversight by the NAZK and a growing awareness among parties about the importance of financial transparency. The persistent non-compliance of 130 parties, however, underscores the ongoing need to enforce accountability among political forces. This reporting is a key part of Ukraine's post-2014 anti-corruption reforms, which aim to reduce the influence of illicit money in politics.
