NAZK's Role at an International Anti-Corruption Gathering
A delegation from Ukraine's National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAZK) participated in the 25th annual professional conference and General Assembly of the European Partners Against Corruption (EPAC/EACN) held in Budva, Montenegro. During the event, NAZK showcased Ukraine’s practical approaches to reducing corruption risks in the defense, reconstruction, and education sectors amid ongoing conflict.
Serhiy Hupyak, Deputy Head of NAZK, highlighted that anti-corruption efforts are now embedded within all negotiation chapters concerning Ukraine’s EU accession process. He also revealed that NAZK has been appointed as the National Coordinator for Ukraine-NATO cooperation on integrity education. This collaboration led to the establishment of the Building Integrity Defence Community (BI Defence Community) scheduled for 2026.
Advancing Anti-Corruption Through Innovation
Mykhailo Mykhailovskyi, head of NAZK’s digital transformation and innovation development department, presented details about Ukraine’s Declaration Registry, which contains nearly 10 million submitted declarations. The system is engineered to handle over 100,000 simultaneous connections during peak periods. NAZK employs automated analytics, a risk-based methodology, comprehensive declaration verifications, lifestyle monitoring, and political party report audits to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures across the country.
Ukraine’s active participation in international forums underscores its commitment to global anti-corruption initiatives. The integration of integrity standards into EU accession talks and strategic NATO partnerships emphasizes the critical role of transparency and accountability, especially in wartime conditions. Leveraging advanced technologies like automated analytics significantly boosts trust and openness within public institutions.
