Launch of the New 2,000 Hryvnia Banknote
Ukraine's National Bank has announced the release of a new 2,000 hryvnia banknote, set to enter circulation on September 4, 2026. The announcement was made by NBU Governor Andriy Pyshny. The front side of the note will feature a portrait of renowned Ukrainian poet Vasyl Stus, while the reverse will display an image of the Philology Faculty building at Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University.
The banknote's design includes a stylized trident rendered in a modern military symbolism style. This trident is paired with the motto 'Glory to Ukraine – Glory to the Heroes.' The central composition is built around the 'Boryviter' mosaic, created by artist Alla Horska in 1967 for the 'Ukraine' restaurant in Mariupol.
New Coin Issued for Constitution Day
